So Justin has decided that since one of our cats hurt her foot, she can't go outside until it's healed. But he seems to feel perfectly justified in sliding her across the floor 'cause she's scratching at the back door.
I'm a little confused by this.
So, today is going to be interesting. Alan backed out of coming over for the fourth...the girls were looking forward to seeing him and doing our usual chicken-and-fireworks tradition. So we're either going to go to a friend's house (I don't know if the girls are welcome at his "get-together" or not), or I'll go pick up some chicken and fireworks and we'll do something here, just the girls and I. Mike and Justin are going to be working.
Eh, who needs 'em anyway? I'm perfectly capable of carrying on the tradition on my own, right? I'll make this holiday good for the girls wether anyone is around or not.
I hear that Thomas is going to the Dixon party, if he can get ahold of Kate to find out where Dixon House is located. I only sorta remember, but I'm not invited anyway, so...*shrugs* I'll let him figure this one out on his own. However, Jax...if you read this, get Kate to call Thomas? Or me, and I'll pass the number on or something. I don't have a number for you anymore. And apparently neither does he.
My birthday rather sucked. I went to breakfast with my dad, which was fun...then Justin, the girls and I went to Home Depot. I found the trellis I want for my cucumber plant (but it's $80, damnit), an aloe plant that I'd really like to get and a zucchini plant too. Maia wants a tomato cage for her plant, and something decent to plant it in. Which really we need for all the plants - they're outgrowing their little store pots. Justin found the stuff he needs to rewire the outlet for the dryer (which needs doing 'cause my new washer and dryer will be delivered on the 12th), but he didn't get any of it so we'll have to go back next weekend. And hopefully get the trellis and plants and stuff too.
Anyway, when we got back home I passed out, then Justin spent the afternoon playing Quake 4, then we tried to go out to sushi but my favorite place to go was closed. So we went to Carl's Jr. instead. Ugh.
I ended up calling my mother late in the evening 'cause she hadn't called...she said that she just doesn't consider birthdays important anymore. They annoy her now that Bob is dead. She then spent half an hour talking about her cats, saying that they're her kids, and justifying the fact that she didn't call me by saying she didn't call Rodena either. What the HELL? Those balls of fur aren't her children, I AM! Rodena isn't her daughter...I AM! I know it sounds really goddamned selfish but just ONCE I'd like to be important in her life, you know? She throws a dramatic fit when I don't call her on her birthday or an anniversary or whatnot, and yet my birthday just isn't important.
At least I know where I stand, right? I'm not important to her unless she needs me to do something for her. I really should have figured that out years ago. *sighs*
Don't mind me, I'm just cranky. It's been a shitty week, and it's barely started.
I can't wait until Saturday. No, nothing major is happening, I'll just have a few hours to curl up and pretend the universe doesn't exist. Or something.
I'm...tired.
